GBFoods Inspires Girls on STEM Education

Nigerian girls have been encouraged to embrace Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) to increase their career opportunities and educational pathways.
They were also charged on innovative solutions to local challenges, at a science-focused event organised by GBFoods for students of Eva Adelaja Girls Secondary School in Bariga.
The initiative was in commemoration of International Day of Women and Girls in Science, a day set aside to celebrate women who have, and continue to make outstanding achievements and contributions across science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields.
Marketing Director of the company, Oreoluwa Atinmo, explained that the event was an integral part of the company’s commitment to fostering inclusivity and supporting the girl child.
Atinmo who also encouraged the girls on innovative thinking, reiterated the company’s unwavering commitment to contributing home-grown solutions to global challenges.
“At GBFoods, we foster a well-balanced society that champions inclusivity, innovation, and excellence. We are dedicated to supporting and encouraging you to become better innovators in society”, she assured.
Also speaking, the Factory Manager at Gbfoods, Chidozie Denis, advised the girls to embrace diligence and perseverance in their pursuits for success.
He also extended invitation to the students for an excursion opportunity to the company’s factory where they could have a first-hand knowledge of science activities.
The organisation also donated support materials to the school’s science laboratories to enhance study. Some items donated included laboratory coats, meter rules, projectors, life-sized laboratory human skeleton and laboratory cabinets, amongst others.
