‘Insecure’ Gets Theatrical Release Date

The upcoming psych-drama movie ‘Insecure’ has been confirmed for a March release date. Directed by Ben Nwokike and produced by Abdul Tijani-Ahmed of School Yard Media, starring Efa Iwara, Beverly Naya, Venita Akpofure, Ade Laoye, Darasimi Nadi, Tunbosun Aiyedehin, Michael O. Ejoor, Demi Banwo, Tope Olowoniyan and many others.

The film is set for cinemas on the 8th of March, 2024. The official trailer for the Nwokike’s directorial debut had stirred a certain interest which spurred anticipation of the movie a couple of months back. The feature-length film, ‘Insecure’ had been slated for a 2023, unspecified release date. Fans of the cast and Nollywood movie buffs are already looking forward to it.

It tells the story of a devoted wife who helps her husband build a thriving art gallery; their seemingly perfect life is disrupted by a captivating woman. As she grapples with heartbreak and betrayal, she must also confront her own insecurities and embark on a desperate quest for justice. Efa Iwara and Beverly Naya play the loving couple whose world takes a new turn when the new woman (played by Venita Akpofure) comes into the picture.

The producer exclusively shared how deeply impressed he was by the script, saying even though he didn’t write it, it tickled his fancy. “Something exciting about the film is its genre, you never see anything coming, it just keeps unveiling itself. The film is most likely unpredictable because things keep shocking the audience,” Tijiani-Ahmed said.
