Fintiri Stresses Role of Traditional Institutions in Fostering National Devt

Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, at the weekend stressed the significance role traditional institution should play in galvanising the people towards achieving government objectives.
Fintiri said this at the turbaning ceremony of his Chief of Staff, Dr. Edgar Sunday Amos, as the ‘Jagaban Yungur’ at Dumne town of Song Local Government Areas of the state.
The governor, who was represented by his Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Awwal Tukur, at the ceremony, said traditional institutions should wake up to its calls of ensuring unity and adequate food security by encouraging farming activities, sensitise the people on the importance of coexisting in a peaceful atmosphere.
The newly turbaned Jagaban Yungur said the creation of more chiefdoms in Adamawa State would enhance development and create more effective security operations in the areas particularly now that the country is faced with security
challenges.
Amos shortly after his investiture as the Jabagan Yungur said: “The creation of more chiefdoms will accommodate a more traditional setup in the state that will foster growth, encourage participation, and enhance peace, security, and neighbourhood watch on the rapidly expanding communities in the state.”
He said his turbaning has for the first time brought most Yungur stakeholders and sundry together to agree on a cause of action and decided to turban him.
Amos also stressed the need for traditional institutions to ensure food security and national development
Also, Mrs. Huwa Bulus, a resident of Dumne said the newly turbaned Jagaban is seen as the rally point to the Yungur nation both those living in diaspora and those in the state and it locality.
