Reality TV Star Faith Morey Launches “For Charity Okachi” Foundation in Honor of Late Grandmother’s Legacy

Faith Morey has recently launched a charitable foundation, “For Charity Okachi,” in honor of her late grandmother, Mrs. Charity Okachi, a dedicated public school teacher for over three decades. The reality TV star shared the news via an Instagram video, disclosing that she had been diligently working on this initiative for some time.

Her philanthropic journey began by assisting students from Sangana Primary School in Port Harcourt, where her grandmother had taught, before expanding her reach to other schools within the state. Faith’s efforts have already made a significant impact, including providing school uniforms and shoes for 156 students, covering examination and Inter-House sports fees for 32 students, deploying five volunteer teachers, distributing JAMB forms to Oromineke Girls Secondary School students, refurbishing classrooms in Port Harcourt State Primary School, and sponsoring the 2024 Inter-House Sports event for the latter.

Furthermore, Faith’s foundation is actively engaged in ongoing and proposed projects throughout Rivers state. In addition to her contributions to public school students in Port Harcourt, she expressed her willingness to extend educational opportunities to individuals beyond Rivers state through her foundation.

Reflecting on the foundation’s launch on her Instagram page, Faith expressed deep emotional attachment to the name, as it honors her beloved grandmother who played a significant role in her upbringing. The initiative began with plans to provide solar panels to Sangana Primary School but evolved into a broader effort upon realizing the school’s diverse needs, including the provision of school uniforms to students, a matter particularly close to Faith’s heart due to her own childhood experiences of being bullied for lacking proper attire.

Faith emphasized the predominantly underprivileged backgrounds of the students she seeks to assist, underscoring the importance of her foundation’s work in bridging educational disparities.
