My Musical Influencers Don’t Influence My Lifestyle, Says Captainfresh

Born on June 18th, 1999 to a Yoruba father and an Edo mother, Oluwatosin David Osamudieme, is a singer, rapper and songwriter. He is a versatile artiste who combines different music genres like RnB, Alternative Hip-hop, Afrobeat, etc.

Captainfresh talks about being a big fan of Davido, especially his music and creativity. He loves Davido so much and he has extended the love to his label signees like; Mayorkun Peruzzi etc. He says he sees Davido as the ‘Godfather of the Gen Z Vibe’.

According to him,“My name is Captainfresh and I am not a copycat. All my life, I have grown up with the ideology that ‘great minds are mentored’ and as an artiste, I have always carefully picked whose music inspires me, while making an effort to ensure I don’t copy anyone’s lifestyle. I believe in my unique personality as an artiste. I feel an artiste’s personality should reflect in his music.”

Talking about future collaborations, Captainfresh says he would love to do a collaboration with young interesting artistes like Bayanni, Qing Madi, Khaid, Ayra Starr, Rema.

Talking about his growth in music, CaptainFresh expressed his growth since he released his first single in 2023. He talks about his new single “ASABI” and how he has worked with one of Nigerians top producers ‘Timbun’.

“This song has been an online sensation because it tells of a story of a young beautiful ebony girl inspired by the popular ‘ASABI SA DOLLAR’ adage” says CaptainFresh.
