NAL Celebrates Tinubu’s Investiture as Academy of Science’s Grand Patron

The Nigerian Academy of Letters (NAL) has expressed excitement about the investiture of President Bola Tinubu as the grand patron of the Nigerian Academy of Science. The academy described it as a well-deserved honour.

The president of the academy, Prof. Sola Akinrinade, explained in a statement that the timely award is an acknowledgement of the president’s sterling and astute leadership qualities and his readiness to work with academia in a progressive search for sustainable development.

He also expressed delight about Tinubu’s announcement of establishing a National Research Fund (NRF), saying that the academy is confident that when properly implemented, the fund will help accelerate development in all its ramifications in the country.

“As an academy, we are prepared to work with all stakeholders to produce effective and skilled citizens that are nationally relevant and globally competitive. With financial support from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), we have in the recent past, worked with the Nigerian Academy of Science to develop a framework for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) Education in this country.

“With the growing understanding of the need to assist the next generation of Nigerians to acquire well-rounded skills for an innovative and creative future, NAL is ready to contribute to national development in this regard,” Akinrinade stressed.
