Poll Victory Claims: Sokoto PDP Suffering from Delusional Disorder, Says APC
Onuminya Innocent in Sokoto
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State has said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) must be thoroughly deluded to imagine that it won the 2023 poll in the state.
APC said PDP’s claim that the election was “manipulated” against its candidate, Alhaji Sa’aidu Umar, was both ridiculous and insulting to thousands of Sokoto people, who voted massively for the ruling party and its governorship candidate, now Governor Ahmed Aliyu
At a press conference last Tuesday by the state Commissioner for Information, Sambo Bello Danchadi, he said PDP was rejected by the people at the poll due to its abysmal performance while in power in the state.
Recently, while addressing the party supporters and stakeholders in Sokoto, the former Governor of the state, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, claimed that PDP did not lose the 2023 governorship election in the state but was robbed of victory.
Danchadi explained that Tambuwal should have saved his speech after the holy month of Ramadan because there was no truth in it.
He said: “For the former governor to state that PDP won the 2023 governorship election in the state, but was robbed of victory, amounted to desecration of the holy month.”
He stated that the PDP only won majority of votes in five local government areas out of 23 of the state.
The commissioner further noted that APC did not only win the election but have justified its victory by addressing the issues over which the election was contested, adding that in the area of security, the state is now secure than when PDP was in power.
He stated that the departure of PDP from the state Government House is a case of good riddance to bad rubbish, and is still celebrated by our people.
The commissioner maintained that the administration would soon be one year in office, stressing they are looking forward to inaugurating projects than eight years of PDP in the state.
Danchadi said it’s therefore pertinent to advised Tambuwal to open his eyes to political reality in the state.
