The governor stated this when he received the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Dr Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu alongside other emirs and traditional title holders on a Sallah homage yesterday.
Mohammed said regardless of the political differences, his administration is poised towards collaborating with the federal government to ensure that the much needed democracy is provided for the good people of Bauchi state.
Governor Mohammed pledged his government’s determination to continue to collaborate with federal government in order to improve the living conditions of the citizens.
The governor, who observed that the time for politicking is over, noted that all energy and resources needed to be channeled towards good governance as being undertaken by his government.
“Yes, we are in the opposition PDP but we respect the federal government, we associate with the federal government, we work together because we believe in the corporate entity called Nigeria and we must work together,” he said.
Mohammed, who commended the traditional leaders for staying away from politics, pointed out that their action has further made them to qualify as fathers to all.
While acknowledging the role of traditional institution and community leaders in ensuring security across the state, the governor emphasised that such effort would not go unappreciated by the government of the day.
The governor, who was impressed by the display during the Sallah Durbar, called for sustenance of the age long tradition.
Speaking earlier, the Emir of Bauchi Alhaji Rilwanu Sulaimanu Adamu, who spoke on behalf of the traditional institution, explained that they were at government house to pay Sallah homage to the governor and showcase the annual tradition of Durbar.
The Emir, who thanked Allah for the successful completion of this year’s Ramadan fasting, commended the governor for upgrading the palaces of all the Emirs and District Heads across the state.
