The Diary of a Naija Girl (DANG) Women have charged men to join in the course of advocacy for inclusion policies, leadership and mentorship for women.

DANG is an online community, founded and managed by Ifedayo Agoro, CEO of DANG Lifestyle and founder of Diary of a Naija Girl, to inspire women across the world through creative storytelling. It is a growth-centered platform where empowerment, inspiration, advocacy, people and ideas are celebrated.

During her keynote speech at DANG Women Fest 2024 mega event held in Lagos on April 6, 2024, with the theme “Inspiring Inclusion and Breaking the Norms”, the Vice Chairman of Exxon Mobil Nigeria, Adesua Dozie, urged women to seize every opportunity to learn and get empowered.

In the same vein, she urged the men to join the advocacy for women’s development.

“Women should be the architect of their destiny and don’t take no for an answer. I want to call on women to embrace the opportunity to learn. Let’s commit first to ourselves and next to each other, promoting unity and pride in our identity.

“Men’s advocacy, mentorship, and willingness are needed to challenge the status quo. Men are also needed to join us in the advocacy for inclusive policies,” she said.

In her remarks, Ifedayo Agoro expressed gratitude to the community for their support, stressing the need for women to project joy and maintain peace of mind amidst life’s challenges.

“You have helped me so much; my life has become so much better because of each of you. Thank you for being honest, following your dreams and not being ashamed of your experiences.”

The event was divided into learning sessions and a party reception. During the learning session, the panelists in an educative discussion deliberated on women and mental health challenges on how to strike a balance.

The event also brought together under one roof, media veterans who empowered the women to build and navigate the tech industry building an impactful career in media.
