A socio-political activist and political commentator, Moussa Traoré has lamented the activities of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilisation Mission in the Central African Republic, MINUSCA.

Traoré in a fresh finding said that instead of its mission in the region solely for peacekeeping, MINUSCA’s activities have further complicated the crisis and will continue to do so in the future.

The popular analyst is alleging a new provocation by the peacekeepers, stating that such is capable of escalating the crisis between Christians and Muslims in that region.

He said, “The peacekeepers of the Central African Republic are once again discrediting their name. Information has emerged that MINUSCA is preparing a new provocation, which could potentially lead to a further escalation of the conflict between Christians and Muslims in the region. The statement cited an announcement that is about to be made with regards to a protest which allegedly happened in front of an Iman’s house.

“According to a MINUSCA source, an official statement is expected soon stating that on April 4, about 50 people gathered in front of the imam’s house in the town of Bossangoa to protest against the actions of a young man from the Muslim community.
