APC Condemns Unlawful Invasion of Oyo State Secretariat, Says it’s illegal

The South-West Zone of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has condemned in totality the invasion of the Oyo State Secretariat by a group of individuals, claiming affiliation with the illicit ‘YORUBA NATION’, and launched a violent incursion into the State Secretariat wielding weapons and mystic charms.

The South-West Zonal Chairman of the ruling party, Hon D.I Kekemeke, in a statement obtained by The Daily Times yesterday, explained that this audacious attempt at seizing power unlawfully from the democratically elected government has sent shockwaves through the Southwest, a region known for its peace and stability.

He noted that the reckless invasion, condemned as treasonous by officials, poses a grave threat to Nigeria’s democratic fabric and collective aspirations for progress. The incident, characterized as a crime against democracy, has been met with widespread disapproval from the citizenry. “We unequivocally denounce this senseless and perilous act,” declared Hon. D. I. Kekemeke, Chairman, adding “It does not reflect the values of our people who uphold the ‘OMOLUABI’ ethos”.

“The Yoruba community, renowned for its reasonableness and commitment to nation-building, reaffirmed its allegiance to Nigeria’s unity and development agenda, notably supporting the Tinubu administration’s “Renewed Hope Agenda.” “As investigations proceed to unearth the motives behind this brazen breach, solidarity pours forth from across Nigeria.

The people of Oyo State are encouraged to remain resilient in the face of adversity, holding onto the belief that Nigeria will swiftly reclaim its position as a global leader. “The ramifications of this unlawful incident continue to unfold as authorities work tirelessly to restore order and uphold the rule of law, he added.
