Uzodimma Delays Inauguration of Cabinet, Appoints 16 SAs

Imo State Governor yesterday dashed the hopes of the 16 commissioners-nominees whose swearing-in was tentatively scheduled for April 18. Rather than a confirmation of the inauguration, a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary and Media Adviser to the Governor, Oguwike Nwachuku, announced the appointment of 12 Special Advisers (SAs) as efforts to deepen the gains of the Shared Prosperity 3R Government mantra of the Uzodimma administration.

The appointments coming more than two months after Uzodimma’s inauguration takes immediate effect according to the statement.

The newly appointed SAs include Leo Awazieama, Joseph Oputa, Mrs. Ijeoma Ikegwuruka, Austin Chilakpu, Dr. Patrick Uzoma, Dr. Obianuju Nwokejiobi, Chidi Onyewuchi, and Andy Chikwe.

Others are Amarachi Anyaehie, Tonia Chimenem Chinda, John Ikeaka, Mrs. Chinyere Emeziem, Mrs. Esther Ukachukwu, Ezechi Chukwueme, Humphrey Ikeaka, and  Mrs. Ngozi Pat Ekeji.

Uzodimma  urged the  new appointees to brace up to contribute their quota in the overall interest of Imo State.

THISDAY learnt that waiting in the wings for their inauguration are 16 commissioners-nominees screened and cleared by the state House of Assembly in two batches on March 7 and 24, 2024 respectively
