A traditionalist who had face off with the General Overseer of Christ Mercy Land Church, senior prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin over the powers of the marine spirit in connection to Nollywood actor, Junior Pope’s death has backtracked.

While so many reactions have trailed the death of Junior Pope on water with traditionalists making sacrifices and emphasising the powers behind water, Fufeyin had in a publication asked Nigeria to stop ascribing undue importance to water spirits.

A traditionalist had in reaction to his comment gone to the River Niger claiming how powerful water spirits could be .

He had also cautioned clerics like Jeremiah against making claims on the absolute superiority of the power of Jesus Christ over all.

The traditionalist however in a video posted by the church retracted his comments, saying that he acknowledged the personality of Fufeyin and what the name of Jesus Christ could do.

Stop linking Junior Pope’s death to marine kingdom, prophet Fufeyin warms.

Fufefin, while reacting to some acclaimed worshippers of marine kingdom, who noted that the nollywoood actor was a victim of lack of sacrifice to spiritual and elements had said there is no power above the power of Jesus Christ.

Amidst the prayers and condolences pouring in for the deceased actor and his colleagues, a controversial comment about their deaths had caught the attention of the renowned clergyman  linking the sad incident to marine kingdom.

A self-proclaimed agent of the marine kingdom declared that the unfortunate boat accident was a result of a sacrifice demanded by the water spirits.

The agent further claimed that Junior Pope and his companions must be buried beside the river Niger, where the incident occurred.

Prophet Fufeyin, known for his bold and unapologetic defense of Christianity, wasted no time in responding as he declared in a video message obtained by journalist that “water power is less than Jesus Christ power.”

This comes as Nigerians are already divided over the burial of the actor by the river bank to appease marine spirit.

An X user, @Ada__Okoro said “Junior Pope should not be buried by the river, marine spirits should do their worst, Africans and religious Superstitions are 5&6. Haba, who do us, “who does that?” according to Junior Pope

Another person with that handle @JumokeOlawuyi_ says said: “Saying Jesus Christ will bow to marine powers is an extremely careless statement, God bless Prophet Jeremiah for speaking against that anti Christ narrative”
