Join Chef Bashdar: Elevating Kurdish Cuisines with International Expertise

Chef Bashdar Rzgar Aziz, born in 1986 in Kurdistan, northern Iraq, grew up with a deep appreciation for food despite the scarcity in his household. The lack of meals only intensified his desire to create flavorful dishes. Fascinated by the aromas and spices that surrounded him, Bashdar began experimenting with different combinations at a young age, determined to transform simple ingredients into something special.

After leaving Kurdistan for Sweden, Bashdar’s passion for cooking continued to grow. He pursued formal culinary education, earning two prestigious certifications—one in Germany and another in Sweden. These accomplishments officially established him as a master chef, equipped with both traditional Kurdish cooking methods and a modern, international perspective. His culinary journey led him to open his own restaurant in Sweden, where he blended Kurdish flavors with other global cuisines.

Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic forced Chef Bashdar to close his restaurant, leaving him at a crossroads. However, instead of letting this setback define his career, he used the opportunity to explore new ways of sharing his passion. He started filming cooking tutorials from home, using social media to reach a broader audience. What began as a small venture quickly gained momentum, with people from all over the world tuning in to learn about Kurdish cuisine and Bashdar’s unique cooking style.

Now, Chef Bashdar has become a respected online figure in the culinary world, known for his ability to seamlessly merge Kurdish traditions with international flair. His recipes are not only shared online but also featured in restaurants throughout Sweden and northern Iraq. By continuing to innovate and expand his culinary reach, Bashdar is elevating Kurdish cuisine to new heights, inspiring others to explore the rich flavors of his homeland.
