Mark Elected 2nd Vice President of NIESV

The Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV) has elected Dr. Emmanuel Mark, a lawyer, valuer, right-of-way consultant, and chartered estate surveyor who holds PhD in Environmental management has been elected as the 2nd vice president of the institution.
He was elected following a keenly contested election held by the institution between the 8th and 18th of April 2024 at the annual conference in Benin, Edo State, with a certificate of return issued on the 20th of April 20, 2024
Speaking on his election, Mark said: “With all sense of responsibility and humility, I am deeply honored to have been elected as the 2nd Vice President of Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers
“This victory would not have been possible without the guidance of Almighty and the unwavering support I received from all of you. Thank you for honoring me with your votes.
“As you all know, our institution, as envisioned by our Elders, is built by our compassion toward each other, our commitment to decency, and our faith in our colleagues. Now is the time for us to be united as an institution so that we can genuinely better our lives and practices.
“Together, we can continue to elevate the standards and professionalism of Estate Surveying and Valuation in Nigeria and beyond. I look forward to collaborating with all members to drive progress and bring about positive changes that will benefit our profession and the society as a whole.
“Once again, congratulations to all the members on the successful completion of the Edo 2024 Conference, and thank you for your continued support and participation in the institution’s activities. Let us work together towards a brighter future for our institution.”
A passionate real estate practitioner, Mark is one of the founders of Nuel Mark and Partners, Nigeria’s foremost real estate company with strong operational capacity.
He has held several positions within the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV), Rivers state chapter where he was one time National Publicity Secretary, Chairman of the Institution’s Corporate Affairs Committee (2008–2010), Member of the Institution’s Membership Committee (2014–present), and Member of the Professional Practice Committee of the Estate Surveyors and Valuers Registration Board of Nigeria (ESVABON) from 2006–2017.
He was also president of the International Right of Way (IRWA), Chapter 84, Nigeria’s Treasurer, Secretary, and Vice President. Dr. Mark became the first member of Chapter 84, Nigeria, and the only African to be designated as a Senior Right of Way Professional.
In addition, Mark is a member of the International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI) and other related professional bodies. The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), African Bar Association (AFBA), International Bar Association (IBA), Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), Commonwealth Association of Surveying and Land Economy (CASLE), and others.
At the Rivers State University of Science and Technology in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Dr. Emmanuel Mark obtained degrees in Estate Management, M. Phil in Environmental Management, and LLB Law. He was also admitted to the Nigeria Bar.
His professional career began with messrs Emeka Obianefo and Co and later he joined Osas and OSEJI where is honed his skills in the Estate surveying and valuation profession.
The Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuer (NIESV) was founded in 1969. The Estate Surveyors and Valuers (Registration Act) Decree No. 24 of 1975 gave the Institution official government registration. In 1969, the inaugural Annual Conference took place in Ibadan.

Mark has unmatched expertise in land administration, asset management, and property appraisal as a Chartered Estate Surveyor and Valuer.
