Let’s Celebrate Our Differences, Unite for Stronger Nation, Shettima Urges Nigerians

Vice-President Kashim Shettima, has emphasised the significance of peaceful coexistence and service to humanityfor a stronger Nigeria.

Shettima spoke on behalf of President Ahmed Bola Ahmed Tinubu,  who was special guest of honour during the installation of Dr. Sulaiman Adebola Adegunwa, and wife, Hajiya Fatima Adegunwa, as Asiwaju of Ijebu and Yeye Asiwaju & Arobake of Ijebu respectively.

During the ceremony, Shettima described Adegunwa as a worthy leader committed to promoting peace and unity across the nation.

He noted that the essence of humanity was service, and the event celebrated not only leadership and culture but also the essence of humanity, which was service.

He urged political leaders to celebrate Nigeria’s cultural diversity and work towards a united and harmonious society, reinforcing the importance of unity and service to humanity in building a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria.

Shettima called upon Adegunwa to view his new role as a call to service, a reminder that what Nigeria needed was a sacrifice for love, tolerance, and total dedication.

He lauded Adegunwa’s inspiring story of success, noting that for every man, who strived to succeed, there was no way the doors would not be open.

The Vice President promised to partner well-meaning Nigerians to ensure that everyone, who sacrificed and strived to succeed despite the challenges facing the nation, would receive all the support they need.

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, also congratulated Adegunwa and recounted his journey to investments in banking, real estate, agriculture, and education from a small photo studio.

He expressed confidence that the new Asiwaju would bring his wealth of experience, personal attributes, courage, and philanthropy to discharge his new role admirably to the Ijebu people.

The Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayọde Adetọna II, who conferred the chieftaincy title, commended Adegunwa and his wife for distinguishing themselves in character, their fields of endeavour, and contributions to the community’s economic well-being.

Adetona, said the palace had observed the Adegunwas with joy and pride as they exhibited uncanny and unblemished sagacity, honesty, integrity, and uncommon development in Ijebuland.

The event, which took place at the Ijebu-Ode palace, was attended by traditional leaders, political officials, and dignitaries from across the country, including former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the Ogun State Deputy Governor, Noimot Salako-Oyedele

Others were the Minister of State for Health, Dr. Tunji Alausa; former Ogun State governors Segun Osoba, Gbenga Daniel, and Ibikunle Amosun, among others.
