EGO Foundation Introduces Project SheEnabled in Kuchingoro, Abuja

Enterprise, Growth & Opportunities (EGO) Foundation, a leading advocate for women’s economic empowerment in Nigeria took the train of project SheEnabled to New Kuchingoro, FCT Abuja.

Leveraging its proven track record of impactful initiatives, EGO Foundation aimed to uplift and support women entrepreneurs in the local IDP Camp and surrounding areas.

EGO Foundation is committed to fostering economic empowerment and sustainable growth within communities across Nigeria. Focusing on women’s entrepreneurship, the Foundation designs tailored programs to address the unique challenges women face in accessing opportunities for economic advancement.

Adapting to the unique requirements of the women in Kuchingoro, the project tailored its approach accordingly.

The Founder of EGO Foundation, Toluwase Olaniyan, highlighted the paramount importance of empowering women from the IDP Camp in his address.

“Empowering women with the right skills and knowledge is crucial for driving economic growth at the grassroots level . Project SheEnabled exemplifies our commitment to equipping women entrepreneurs in the local community with practical and valuable resources,” he added.

Over 1000 women participated in informative sessions, emphasizing the importance of maintaining accurate book-keeping methods, i.e, sales and stock records. Collaborating with local partners, including Access Bank, discussions centered on how proper record-keeping could facilitate access to grants and loans, empowering women to leverage financial opportunities effectively, particularly in securing financial support to grow their businesses.

In a strategic move towards fostering community empowerment, EGO Foundation also introduced a community loan scheme with a strong focus on sustainability. This innovative scheme enables beneficiaries to actively engage in loan rotation, democratize access to the community’s financial resources, and prioritize sustainable development initiatives.

The event received widespread support from various stakeholders, including the secretary of the IDP Camp, Mr Luka John, who stated during his speech that, “Empowering women and distributing aid isn’t just a project. It symbolizes hope for our community, creating opportunities and ensuring everyone is included, even in these tough times.”

Insights shared during the event aimed to inspire and motivate attendees, reinforcing the Foundation’s vision of creating sustainable opportunities for women entrepreneurs in Kuchingoro and beyond.
