NICOWA President Inaugurates Shopping Mall in Sokoto

In its efforts to empower wives of officers of Nigeria Correctional Service (NCS), the National President of Nigeria Correctional Officer’s wife, Hajia Aisha Musa Haliru Nababa, has inaugurated a shopping mall in Sokoto State.

Represented by the wife of the Delta State Controller of Correctional Service, Prof Jayi Oba, Mrs. Nababa said NICOWA is committed to the empowerment and welfare of its members.

She explained that the shopping mall would promote commercial activities in Sokoto State, stressing that if well harnessed, it will boost  the economy and create jobs for the people.

According to her, “You Know Sokoto is a commercial town, so to construct this shopping mall here will help improve commercial activities in the city.”

Nababa further said that NICOWA is committed to supporting their husbands for the rehabilitation and reformation of offenders (inmates).

She thanked the Controller General of Nigeria Correctional Service, Musa Haliru Nababa, for providing enabling environment for the construction of the shopping mall.

She also thanked the state Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, and Hajia Fatima Ahmed Aliyu for their unflinching support which made the project a reality.

She called on the people of Sokoto State to patronise the mall, saying by doing so, it will put food on the table of many.

On his part the Controller General of Nigeria Correctional Service, Nababa, represented by Controller of Correctional Service Sokoto State, Salihu Abdullahi, appreciated NICOWA for the initiative.

Nababa maintained that the Service would welcome any initiative that helps in uplifting the lives of Nigerians.

He said his administration would support NICOWA to ensure that they execute people oriented projects.
