Makinde, Afenifere Celebrate Fasoranti, at 98

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde and the pan-Yoruba socio-cultural and socio-political organisation, Afenifere, yesterday, hailed Pa Reuben Fasoranti, for providing leadership to the Yoruba nation over the years.

Makinde, who felicitated Pa Fasoranti on the occasion of his 98th birthday, maintained that the nonagenarian has contributed immensely to the growth and progress of the Yoruba ethnic group and Nigeria as a whole.

He congratulated the Afenifere leader, praying to God to grant him more years and good health as he continues to lead his people.
Makinde said, “I congratulate the Afenifere leader and our Baba, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, on the occasion of his 98th birthday.
“Pa Fasoranti has, over the past years, provided positive leadership to the Yoruba nation and has contributed immensely to the growth and progress of the Yoruba ethnic group and the country.

“His calm disposition to issues of national interest and his patriotism have been great hallmarks that leaders must emulate.
“I celebrate Baba and I pray to God to give him good health as he continues to lead his people.”
In the same vein, Afenifere, congratulated its leader, Fasoranti.

The National Publicity Secretary, Jare Ajayi, in a statement issued yesterday said Fasoranti’s life is a study in geniality, intellectualism, team-playing, philanthropy, communality, religiosity and humanness.

He said: “Pa Fasoranti is an embodiment of the Omoluabi ethos that sum up the characteristics of a man of impeccable integrity.
“The record of his years in the public service is unblemished. His activities during and after retirement have always been geared towards the enhancement of the situation around him. Besides providing succor where  needed, he  is also a motivator.

“These attributes have not only endeared him to many, they also depict him as a person who inspires.”
Afenifere added that Fasoranti is also exemplary in how to cope with fortitude going by some challenges he has faced in life.
It added that the conduct since he chose to tread on the noble path charted by the Sage, Chief  Obafemi Awolowo, ultimately elevated him to the pedestal of a Statesman.
