President Committed to Ending Terrorism, Banditry, Says Badaru

The Minister of Defence, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, yesterday, said President Bola Tinubu was committed to ending terrorism, kidnapping, banditry and other criminal activities in the country.
Badaru said this in Sokoto, while on an official working visit to 8 Division headquarters in the state.
However, Badaru, explained that the President has mandated members of his team to end insurgency, terrorism, and banditry as soon as possible.
He further said that this administration is fully committed to defeat terrorism, kidnapping, banditry and other criminal activities, especially in the northern part of the country.
The minister maintained that the military have recorded successes recently which led to the killing of some terrorist leaders.
“Recently our military have recorded successes by neutralising some terrorist leaders, and I can assure you we are trailing the remaining one and very soon we will get them,” he added.
The minister while addressing the troops at parade ground of 26 Battalion , Giginya Barracks encouraged them to remain focused, saying very soon it shall be over.
He said their sacrifices would never go unnoticed, stressing that Mr. President is aware of their plights and “he is doing everything to addressing them”.
He stated that their welfare would be catered for, saying the President is doing everything to improve their welfare.
“Let us keep the hope alive and be optimistic, by the grace of God, we shall overcome these challenges,” he said.
Badaru disclosed that the security team assembled by the President is a formidable one saying they are working in synergy to ensure that insecurity becomes a thing of the past .The minister while in the Gvernment House told Governor Ahmed Aliyu that he is the state to interact with the governor and seek his advice.
He assured the governor of the federal government’s commitment to end terrorism , banditry and kidnapping in the state.
Responding, Governor Aliyu, represented by his deputy, Muhammad Idris Gobir, said the state government will spend its last Kobo to ensure Sokoto is secure.
At the palace of Sultan of Sokoto, lhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar 111, the minister said he was at the palace to seek his royal advice and blessing.
Responding, Sultan of Sokoto, said he believed in the ability of Badaru to end insecurity in the country.
