Accountants, Fraud Examiners Pay Tribute as Fowokan Buries Mother

Members of Accounting and Tax professional bodies, including fraud examiners were among the dignitaries that honoured Olori Taiwo Sarah Lawal,  late mother of the President of Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), Lagos Chapter, Dr.Titilayo Fowokan. 

Olori Lawal died March 20, 2024, at the age of 105. She was buried on March 29 in Imodi Ijebu, Ogun state. 

Dignitaries from far and near who graced the event poured encomiums on the late matriach, appreciating God on her behalf for a life well spent. 

In a hearfelt condolence message, Deputy Vice President, ACFE, Lagos Chapter, Dr Pius stated that Olori Lawal raised champions as children, grandchildren, and great grand children. 

He added that her contributions  in sharpening her nuclear and extended families were evident in their status and contributions  to society. 

While extending the condolence of Society of Women Accountants of Nigeria (SWAN) to the family, National Chairperson, Mrs Hilda Ozoh said, “We celebrate the life of a great amazon whose testimonies abound, part of which was being able to raise generals from generation to generation in her lifetime. We are delighted for the excellent impacts and influence she made in her lifetime to generations and humanity at large. ” 

On his part, Managing Director of Guinea Insurance PLC,  Ademola Abidogun  described the deceased as a woman of wisdom and remarkable quality. 

“Her exceptionality is evident in Fowokan’s probity, presence of mind and professionalism. Mama has deeply influenced her children’s lives and achievements,” he said. 

Fowokan said of her mother, ” You taught me how to be resilient, diligent, self-disciplined,  and a giver because you were all of these and more. I am forever grateful to God for being an output of your womb,” she gushed.
