Mbaise USA Holds Groundbreaking Ceremony for Medical City in Imo State

Imo State citizens under the aegis of Mbaise USA resident in the United States of America, have held the ground breaking ceremony for its gigantic multi-billion Naira Medical City project which aims to blend medicare and hospitality into an exceptional healthcare experience

The project named Medville Medical City, proposed to be sited at Eziala Kaohu Community in Aboh-Mbaise LGA of the State is conceptualised to create an oasis of affordable quality healthcare and position Nigeria as one of the attractive destinations for medical tourism.

In his speech at the groundbreaking ceremony, the National President of Mbaise USA, High Chief Sonny O. S Echendu described the project as the beginning of the illumination of Africa, starting with Medville Medical City in Mbaise.

Echendu urged all progressive citizens and all those who profess their love for Mbaise and the advancement of humanity to join forces with Mbaise USA to “raise the standards of living for our various communities, establish the best healthcare system, improve the quality of education, create a conducive environment for seniors, establish a world-class hospital, hotel, schools of medicine and nursing, a mechanized agricultural farm, a supermarket that does not sell adulterated products, an amphitheater, and a self-sustaining community”

He explained that Medville Medical City which would sit atop over 100 acres of land is an improvement on its annual Medical Outreach budget of over $5 million where it flies in specialists for surgeries, general medicine and other healthcare needs. The project is being executed in partnership with Medville Corporation and other stakeholders as one stop facility where Nigerians and people from neighbouring countries can access for first class medical consultation, treatment and access to similar facilities as obtainable in the global medical tourism industry.

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma was represented at the occasion by the State’s Commissioner for Health, Hon Prosper Success Ohayagha who led an entourage comprising Amadi, Commissioner for Digital Economy and e-Governance; Hon Bede Eke, Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development and other top aides of the governor

The Health Commissioner proffered that the project will stand as a symbol of the government’s enduring commitment to the wellbeing of Imo people. He added that the proposed microcity will serve as the Nation benchmark that will lift Imo people towards a healthier and more prosperous future.

The occasion which was chaired by Mr Frank Nneji, Founder/Chief Executive Officer of ABC Transport PLC has had in attendance, Dr Charles Iwejuo, Chairman, Board of Delegates, Mbaise USA; Chief Alozie Aguwa. Vice President, Mbaise USA, the project visioner, Dr Nancy Akunna the Vice President of the American International School of Medicine and Sir Stanley Amuchie of Fidelity Bank PLC.
