Mbaise USA Lays Foundation for Medical City in Imo State

Imo State’s citizens under the aegis of Mbaise USA  resident in the United States of America, USA, has held the ground breaking ceremony for its gigantic multi-billion Naira Medical City project that would blend medicare and hospitality into an exceptional healthcare experience.

The project, which is named Medville Medical City and proposed to be  sited at Eziala Kaohu Community in Aboh-Mbaise LGA of the  state, is conceptualised to create an oasis of affordable quality healthcare and position Nigeria as one of the attractive  destinations for medical tourism.

In his speech at the ground breaking ceremony, the National President of Mbaise USA, Mr. Sonny O. S Echendu, described the project as the beginning of the illumination of Africa, starting with Medville Medical City in Mbaise.

Echendu urged all progressive citizens and all those who profess their love for Mbaise and the advancement of humanity to  join forces with Mbaise USA to “raise the standards of living for our various communities. 

Establish the best healthcare system, improve the quality of education, create a conducive environment for seniors, establish a world-class hospital, hotel, schools of medicine and nursing, a mechanized agricultural farm, a supermarket that does not sell adulterated products, an amphitheater, and a self-sustaining community.”

He explained that Medville Medical City, which would sit atop over 100 acres of land, is an improvement on its annual Medical Outreach budget of over $5 million for flying in specialists for surgeries, general medicine and other healthcare needs.

The project is being executed in partnership with Medville Corporation and other stakeholders as one stop facility where Nigerians and people from neighbouring countries can access first class medical consultation, treatment and similar facilities that are obtainable in the global medical tourism industry.

 Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, who was represented at the occasion by the state’s Commissioner for Health, Hon. Prosper Success Ohayagha, whose entourage   comprised the Commissioner for Digital Economy and e-Governance, Hon. Amadi; Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon.  Bede Eke, and other top aides of the governor.

The health commissioner proffered that the project would stand as a symbol of the government’s enduring commitment to the wellbeing of Imo people.

He added that the proposed microcity would serve as the nation’s benchmark, which will lift Imo people towards a healthier and more prosperous future.

The occasion, which was chaired by the Founder/Chief Executive Officer of ABC Transport PLC, Mr. Frank Nneji, was also attended by Chairman, Board of Delegates, Mbaise USA, Dr. Charles Iwejuo; Vice President, Mbaise USA, Mr. Alozie Aguwa and the project visioner, Dr. Nancy Akunna, who is also the vice president of the American International School of Medicine and Mr. Stanley Amuchie of Fidelity Bank PLC.

Others who witnessed the occasion included Hon. Princewill Amuchie, representing Aboh-Mbaise State Constituency and the Minority Leader of Imo State House of Assembly and his deputy, Hon. Clinton Amadi of Owerri Municipal State Constituency; Bishop Chamberlain Ogunedo of the Anglican Diocese of Mbaise and Bishop Simeon Nwobi of the Catholic Diocese of Ahiara.

Others are the President General of Ezurezu Mbaise, Mr. Joe Anosike and members of his executive council.

The royal fathers that also graced the occasion are HRH Eze Leo Nwokocha; the Chairman of Mbaise Council of Traditional Rulers and Eze-elect, HRH Eze Thaddeus Anochirionye of Elizabeth of Eziala Kaohu and several others.
