Theatre Hub Africa Unveils ‘Theatre on The Mainland Series’

Theatre Hub Africa, the brainchild of the visionary founder and creative director Babatunde Ojobaro, known affectionately as Mister Rain, has announced the launch of a groundbreaking project, ‘Theatre on The Mainland Series’.

This initiative is set to reignite the passion for theatre in Nigeria, starting with the bustling city of Lagos.

The series kicks off with a compelling political satire, ‘Two of a Kind’, which promises to be a thought-provoking journey into the heart of contemporary Nigerian society. Set against a backdrop of murder, brutality, and political intrigue, the play explores the lives of two friends who navigate the treacherous waters of power under masked identities.

Babatunde Ojobaro, a staunch advocate for the power of theatre, believes that this art form offers a unique and genuine entertainment experience that surpasses all other genres. ‘Theatre on The Mainland Series’ is his latest endeavor to provide theatre with the platform it deserves, to not only entertain but also educate and inform audiences one city at a time.

Theatre Hub Africa is dedicated to telling our own original stories, creating an atmosphere that allows us to embrace and appreciate our African identity. From the historic city of Ibadan, the company has been addressing social issues and using theatre as a tool for development.

According to Ojobaro, “Join us as we embark on this exciting journey to give theatre the recognition it truly deserves. ‘Two of a Kind’ is not just a play; it’s a movement, a call to action, and a testament to the enduring spirit of African storytelling.
