Call the DPO, Adikpo to Order

I write to call on the Inspector General of Police, and other relevant authorities to call the DPO in charge of Adikpo Police Headquarters in Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State to order.

Some members of association of blacksmiths, who manufactures hoes and other farming tools in Ishagev-ya, Kwande LGA, were recently arrested and accused of being cultists. The arrest took place during their annual party in Ajio, Ishagev-ya, where they celebrate their success, and discuss challenges confronting them.

It is unfortunate that after the arrest, the victims were searched but nothing incriminating was found on them. But they were forced to pay for their release in the name of bail. The DPO used the banner, designed for the party with pictures of different farm tools, as evidence against them.

If they are suspected cultists, I thought the right thing to do is to charge them to court, Ten Thousand Naira was collected per victim in the name of bail.

This is not the first time I write on the unbecoming activities of the DPO. He sends his men on illegal roadblocks and illegal arrests.

Militia and Fulani herdsmen are killing in different parts of Kwande LGA where Adikpo is the headquarters, but the same DPO cannot send his men to the affected areas to protect lives and prevent the massacres we see almost every day.
