Dr Omotola Onaneye-Babajide, Others Speak At The Africa Women Summit in Kenya

Dr. Omotola Onaneye-Babajide, an esteemed academic, executive coach and entrepreneur, joined other distinguished panelists at the 5th Africa Women Summit held recently in Nairobi, Kenya.

Disclosing to the press recently, Dr Omotola explained that the summit was organized to address key issues affecting women’s health, rights, and empowerment across the continent.

The summit, with the theme “Women’s Health: Empowering Women’s Voices and Inspiring Change,” provided a platform for Dr Omotola and fellow speakers to address critical issues impacting women’s health and well-being across Africa.

She emphasized on the importance of holistic approaches to women’s health, stating, “To truly empower women, we must address the multifaceted factors influencing their health outcomes, including social, economic, and cultural determinants.”

Panelists at the event highlighted the need for leaders to prioritize healthcare investments and ensure equitable access to quality healthcare services for all women.

During the panel discussion on “Bridging Borders; Fostering Health: the Role of Diaspora Women in Advancing Women’s Health in Africa,” Dr Omotola who chaired the session, highlighted the significant contributions of diaspora women in driving positive change in healthcare delivery for African Women.

Mrs Chineme Ajah, a distinguished family nurse practitioner based in New York, USA and one of the panelists, initiated a fund raising for a cancer survivor (Dr Becky Wanjiku Omolola), founder of Solace Cancer, and achieved about Kshs.35400 at the spot.

Dr Uche-Ezeala stated, “We must amplify the voices of women and ensure that their healthcare needs are met, regardless of their socio-economic status or geographical location and that women need to have access to medical and health insurance.

Miss Jacqueline Nyakunu remarked, “Diaspora women possess valuable expertise and resources that can be leveraged to address healthcare disparities and improve health outcomes for women in Africa and gave a charge for the governments of Africa to provide more favorable conditions for achieving equitable healthcare across board.

The summit provided a platform to introduce innovative solutions aimed at improving women’s health outcomes.
