Automechanika Woos Nigerians for Johannesburg, Dubai shows
Automechanika, the renowned international trade fair for the automotive service industry, is actively inviting Nigerian exhibitors and participants to join its upcoming exhibitions in Johannesburg and Dubai.
Managing Director, Messe Frankfurt South Africa, Michael Dehn, told journalists in Lagos that the prestigious shows offer a significant platform for industry stakeholders to showcase their products, network with global professionals, and explore new business opportunities.
Dehn said Automechanika Johannesburg would be held November 19-21, 2024 in South Africa while Automechanika Dubai will take place December 10-12, 2024 in the United Arab Emirates, adding that both exhibitions provide unparalleled opportunities for Nigerian businesses to expand their reach and enhance their industry presence.
He said Africa is poised to overtake Asia as the hub for automotive activities by 2025 and Nigeria can continue to play a pivotal role in the transformation.
“Today, we are introducing our exhibition, which originated in Germany and has now expanded worldwide. We will be hosting an upcoming exhibition, Automechanika Frankfurt this September. but here we are focusing on exhibitions taking place in South And Dubai. We aim to provide information to the Nigerian market due to the strong relationships between Nigeria and South Africa, as well as Nigeria and Dubai.
“We are considering establishing a branch in Nigeria and other markets. Currently, we are on a roadshow in Africa, we are going to Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Rwanda, Zambia and Zimbabwe where we are presenting our exhibition due to the trade relations between these countries and South Africa. This is my first time in Nigeria, and I’m pleased with what I have seen so far. We have visited the country’s Auto Spare Parts and Machinery Dealers Association (ASPAMDA) market, which has been very informative. We have been impressed with the automotive industry in Nigeria. Everywhere we go, we aim to make an impact, and we are committed to doing the same here in Nigeria.” he said.
He urged Nigerian exhibitors and players in the automotive industry who are interested in the shows to apply for visas ahead of time.
He added that the show boasts 17 halls and eight product sections with about 12,000 participants expected from more than 22 countries.
“It is an opportunity to interact face-to-face with well over 12,000 buyers, and network with industry peers including key players in the sector. ‘ We can make Africa the hub because there is a lot of increase in products we import to Africa. There is still a lot of initiative we are planning to link with Africa. We will also be staging a bigger exhibition later in the year. When we create an exhibition somewhere we try looking for a conducive environment. It’s been a good journey so far and of course, there are challenges everywhere but we are facing a good prospect for the development of the show.’
