Ikoyi Golf Club 1938 Tees Off Unity with Intern’l Golf Tournament May 25th

The Ikoyi Club 1938 Golf Section is gearing up to host a prestigious tournament on Saturday, May 25th, aimed at fostering unity among the Nigerian team and the international community.

This highly anticipated event promises to be a celebration of skill, sportsmanship, and camaraderie, attracting golf enthusiasts from diverse backgrounds.

During a pre-tournament press briefing held on Monday, May 21st, the esteemed Captain of the Ikoyi Club Golf Section, Tade Adekunle, assured attendees that all necessary arrangements have been meticulously planned to ensure a seamless and unforgettable experience for participants and spectators alike.

According to Adekunle, the upcoming tournament aims to bring together top amateur golfers in a spirit of friendly rivalry and cultural exchange.

He emphasised the club’s commitment to making the sport accessible across borders: “At Ikoyi Club Golf Section, we believe golf should transcend nationalities.

“The Match Play event epitomises our dedication to fostering collaboration and camaraderie, uniting seasoned players and members through the thrill of competition.”

Adekunle further revealed that the Nigeria vs International Community matchup is just one highlight of their diverse calendar. Other marquee events include the Memorial Cup, Club Championship, and Captains Day Tournament.

“These gatherings allow us to celebrate the game we love while strengthening the bonds between golfers of all backgrounds,” he added. “We look forward to an exciting season filled with sportsmanship, skill, and cross-cultural connections on the fairways.

Meanwhile, the Captain thanked all the sponsors of the tournament, which will have Captains Mark Walsh and Ademola Abidogun, for the International Community team and the Nigerian team, respectively.
