APC Women Allege Diversion of Over 16,050 Wrappers VP’s Wife Gave Rural Women

There’s a growing tension among  the women of the ruling-All Progressives Congress over the alleged diversion of the over 16,050 pieces of wrappers meant for rural women, who deal on fabrics. 

However, the APC women leader says it is false and baseless.

The angry women alleged that over 24,050 pieces of wrappers were released by the wife of the Vice President, Mrs Nana Shettima, for women doing fabrics business at the grassroots, through the APC woman leaders across the states. 

It was further alleged that instead of 650 wrappers meant for each state, only 240 pieces were released to each state. 

A source,, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said, “On the 22nd of May 2024, H.E Nana Shettima made a symbolic presentation of fabric in commercial quantities as part of first ladies renewed hope initiative to support women of the nation.

“These wrappers, over 24,050 pieces of them They were handed to the National Woman Leader of the APC, Dr. Mary Alile, with the order that each state woman leader should get 650 pieces each to go and share to women at grassroot especially those who are into fabrics business. 

“But, to our surprise, after the event the National Woman Leader only gave 240 pieces of the fabrics to the states women leaders instead of 650 pieces they are entitled to.”

Also another source from revealed that, “Over 24,050 out of which she gave out only 8000. We are asking her to provide the remaining or we head to villa and report to the First Lady.”

But reacting to the development, the National Woman Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Mary Alile, said there is no truth in the allegation, describing it as baseless.

She said, “We hear rumours everyday. And so, there’s no truth in that rumour. It’s baseless.”
