Cleric advocates for change in governance system in Nigeria

The planter of Christ Apostolic Church(CAC) BOANERGES Worldwide, Prophet Joseph Ade Ologbonyo has stressed the need for a change in the Governing System in Nigeria.

The Cleric posited that the call became necessary to pave way for the realization of Nigerians yearnings and aspiration for growth and development.

Prophet Ologbonyo who made the call on Monday while speaking with journalists in Orun-Ekiti in Ise/Orun Local Government Area in Ekiti State ahead of the commemoration of the 15th Anniversary of his church said: “I’m one of the people that believe that the system that we are running, the system we inherited from the military regime would not work for this country no matter who becomes the President.

“You know in developed world, the system controls everything. And I he kind of system we are running in this country that we inherited from the colonial masters and transferred to the military regime and the same system we are still running in democracy is not going to work especially for a country like Nigeria that has various ethnic groups.

” I believe we need to fine tune a system that would benefit everyone irrespective of any ethnic group or nation in a country. I would not mind if we call Nigeria United States of Nigeria later.

“Let all of us sit down and like they did in in the time of former President Goodluck Jonathan. Let us have a Confab where we would decide on a system that would work for us. So, all leaders, all stakeholders must form a system that would work for us.

“In developed world, they have system that is controlling everyone. Nobody is above the law because they all agreed to follow the system no matter how prayerful we are if we don’t fine tune a system that would control all of us whether you are a religious leader or political leader, you have to comply with the the system.

The Cleric warned that nobody should be allowed to influence the system saying if things work well in this country today that Nigerians in diaspora would come back home.

However, the religious leader also admonished the Federal Government to ensure a cut in the cost of governance in the cause of administering the country.

“If you really love this country that you should be able to pay prices. The President, the Senators, Members of House of Representatives should be ready to pay the price. To me, It is cheating, we could see huge amount being paid to the National Assembly members. Furniture allowances, SUV’s vehicles given to each of them that gulped huge amount.

“Don’t forget that some of these set of people are former governors and they are collecting pensions, so money is flowing into them. My advice to President Bola Tinubu is that there should be a cost of governance.

Speaking on the one year anniversary of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Cleric said he believed that one year was too early early to do such assessment whether he has performed well or not.

“Let’s give God the glory that we still have a country called Nigeria today. I wouldn’t want to do any rating for now. It’s too early to rate anybody.
