Continuing Support for Women Entrepreneurship: Project SheEnabled Launches in Ejigbo/Ikotun, Lagos

The Enterprise Growth and Opportunities (EGO) Foundation has launched another edition of Project SheEnabled in Ejigbo, Lagos. With unwavering dedication to empowering women entrepreneurs, the EGO Foundation continues to champion women’s economic rights and opportunities across Nigeria.

Having previously implemented successful SheEnabled projects in various Local Government Areas of Lagos, the EGO Foundation has now extended its impactful reach to the Ejigbo community. Recognizing the entrepreneurial spirit inherent within Lagos, the Foundation has tailored its approach to address the unique needs and aspirations of women in this community.

The event attracted a diverse assembly of local stakeholders, community leaders, and women entrepreneurs. Building upon the successes of past SheEnabled initiatives, the Foundation curated enlightening sessions tailored to the specific needs of women in Ejigbo, focusing on pivotal topics such as financial literacy, business management, and resource accessibility.

In collaboration with esteemed partners like Access Bank and the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), discussions revolved around pragmatic strategies to enhance financial knowledge and facilitate access to funding opportunities. Leveraging insights from previous projects in Lagos, the Foundation endeavors to empower women to harness financial resources effectively, thereby fostering sustainable economic growth within the Ejigbo community.

To enhance business practices and financial acumen, bookkeeping pamphlets were distributed to all participants. Over 1000 market women actively participated in an indoor training session, focusing on crucial topics such as financial management, digital literacy, and environmental sustainability. Furthermore, over 120 women received eye examinations, resulting in approximately 94 being identified as needing corrective glasses, medication, or both.

According to the Executive Director of the Foundation, “EGO Foundation is committed to enabling shared prosperity and creating economic stability, particularly among low-income earners. We are dedicated to ensuring financial stability at the grassroots level through enterprise development.”

The event exuded a palpable sense of unity and purpose, with participants expressing optimism about the continued impact of Project SheEnabled. Through this initiative, the EGO Foundation reaffirms its steadfast resolve to effect enduring change and meaningful impact in communities like Ejigbo. By equipping women entrepreneurs with the requisite knowledge, skills, and resources, the Foundation aims to catalyze a ripple effect of empowerment and prosperity throughout the region.
