General Tchoutchoubatchou: From Geography Student to Comedy Sensation
General Tchoutchoubatchou, whose real name is Abdou Kere, was born on March 31, 1994, in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. He completed his early education in Abidjan, obtaining his baccalaureate in 2015 at the Djedji Amondjo Pierre modern high school in Adjamé. He then returned to Burkina Faso to pursue a degree in geography at Joseph Ki-Zerbo University.
Tchoutchoubatchou’s comedic journey began in his second year of university when he decided to switch careers. He underwent comedy training and quickly made a name for himself, starring in the feature film “Albert I Wanted to Be Ready” and the series “Medg Then” by director Abdoul Bagué in 2018. His career further blossomed with a role in the 2019 feature film “Le Film” directed by Dramane Gnessi.
His performances at events such as the Bonané Festival, Nuit de la Parenté à Joisanterie, and Garba Festival have made him a favorite among live audiences. In 2017, he expanded his reach by posting web comedy content on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, amassing a following of over 6 million subscribers.
Recognition for Tchoutchoubatchou’s work came through several awards. In 2022, he won the Best Influencer Award at the Eucher Tv Awards in Lomé and the Most Influential Comedian Award at the Burkimbi Influence Awards. The following year, he received the Best African Web Actor prize at the African Talent Awards in Abidjan, establishing him as a leading voice in African comedy.
