Oando Foundation and Plateau SUBEB Join Forces to Revolutionize Early Childhood Education

In a bid to transform the educational landscape in Plateau State, Oando Foundation has partnered with the Plateau State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) to launch a groundbreaking Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) program in 10 schools across the state.

This strategic intervention tackles the critical gaps in early childhood education, providing infrastructure upgrades, instructional aids, and teacher training to create a solid foundation for young learners.

According to Ms. Tonia Uduimoh, Programmes Manager at Oando Foundation, “The first five years of a child’s life are crucial for cognitive development, and we aim to provide the right learning environment and tools to support their growth.”

Through this partnership, Oando Foundation has expanded its ECCD intervention to 10 schools, benefiting over 4,851 children to date. The initiative is part of the Foundation’s LEARNOVATE strategy, prioritizing innovation and investments in foundational learning to create better life opportunities for children and youth through equitable, quality, and climate-sensitive education.

By addressing the significant challenges facing early childhood education in Nigeria, Oando Foundation and Plateau SUBEB are working together to ensure that every child has access to quality early childhood development and learning opportunities, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and shaping a brighter future for the next generation.”
