To commemorate the World Music Day, the French Institute of Nigeria recently held a music concert at the Abuja Continental Hotel that bedazzled its audience with its thrilling cultural allure.

The well-attended event had a tasteful blend of performances from diverse cultural extractions with performances from the finest artists in Abuja, such as Morell, Jumiee and Peerayce to name a few. The hypnotic sounds from the live band were more than just icing on the cake.

One of the exceptional talents whose performance resonated with the audience; Peerayce, expressed his gratitude to his fans and the French Institute for creating a platform that promotes cultural exchange and collaboration.

In his words: “I appreciate everyone who showed up tonight. I really felt the love from the audience. I’m also grateful to the French Institute for the opportunity and for raising awareness about the diverse musical heritage of Abuja. Events like this provide a platform for cultural exchange and for artists to showcase their talents and grow their fanbase.”

Also speaking, the Deputy Director of the French Institute, Magaly Losange, disclosed that the Institute’s intention was not only to celebrate music but the culture that influences it.

“We wanted to celebrate in Abuja, not just artists but also the cultures around the music. We had Igbo, Yoruba, and Hausa music, and I believe our selection was great. Music is the best way for people to connect despite their differences, and we saw that tonight,” she stated.

Aminu Waziri, an attendee beaming with excitement, said it was his first time witnessing Northern music celebrated with intense charm while noting that he also enjoyed the other cultural renditions and performances.

“The concert will live long in my memory. It was so lovely to see the Northern culture celebrated in its fullness. The performances from the other cultural groups were enriching and exceptional as well,” he said.
