West Africa Youth Council Appoints Blessing Allen-Adebayo as Ambassador

The West Africa Youth Council (WAYC) has appointed Blessing Allen-Adebayo, a global advisor for market systems development, as its Youth Ambassador.

This honour comes as the Council also conferred the Nelson Mandela Leadership Award of Excellence and Integrity on her.

Her appointment was announced through an official letter from the Council on June 13th this year.

The recognitions acknowledge Allen-Adebayo’s unwavering commitment to advancing the quality of life for humanity in various areas including Nigeria’s food systems, environment, and international development.

As noted in the letter of notification, the Council said the recipient’s transformative work has contributed to Nigeria’s food security and reimagined agricultural practices.

While celebrating her endorsement, Allen-Adebayo also received the Global Recognition Award 2024. This honour acknowledges her tireless dedication to enhancing the quality of life for humanity in various sectors, including Nigeria’s food systems, environment, and international development.

Her pioneering approaches and steadfast commitment have propelled significant strides toward establishing sustainable food systems within the nation.

According to Allen-Adebayo, her notable impact was her contribution to initiating digital extension for farmers in northeastern Nigeria.

Her commendable input, she highlighted, is also evident in her extensive work on the promotion of processing technology for farmers in the Niger Delta, her hometown.

Reacting to the new feathers on her cap, she expressed profound gratitude. “I am deeply honoured to be presented with the Nelson Mandela Leadership Award of Excellence and Integrity.

“This recognition is a powerful motivator to continue our pursuit for a better quality of life for our communities.”

Allen-Adebayo acknowledged the support of the WAYC and others who aided her journey while reaffirming her global commitment.
