The Assemblies of God Church (AGC) Apapa District Superintendent, Rev. Chukwudebelu Izuchukwu, has emphasised that discipline and selflessness are crucial in addressing Nigeria’s challenges.

He believes that both leaders and followers must embrace these qualities to overcome the nation’s challenges.

Speaking in line with its recent Easter event in Festac Town, Lagos state, Izuchukwu highlighted the church’s commitment to infrastructural development, professionalism, and empowerment.

These initiatives demonstrate a holistic approach to tackling Nigeria’s challenges, combining spiritual guidance with practical solutions for community development.

The religious leader expressed deep concern over the widespread indiscipline in society, which he argued has fostered a culture of self-interest and corruption.

This environment, he noted, has allowed those in power to misuse resources intended for the public good.

The DS, therefore, emphasised the urgent need for a country-wide initiative to reinstate discipline, promote selflessness, and encourage ethical behaviour, particularly among those in leadership positions.

“Our primary challenge is the lack of discipline,” he asserted, pointing out that this issue has significantly dented the nation’s reputation internationally.

The cleric, however, implored government officials to desist from embezzlement and misappropriation of funds, cautioning that continued misconduct could lead to severe consequences.

He also questioned the morality of leaders who accumulate excessive wealth while the citizens struggle, citing examples of those who own numerous cars and houses while others can’t afford education.

Izuchukwu called for a nationwide effort to restore discipline, selflessness, and a culture of doing the right thing, particularly among leaders.

Thus, he urged all to return to God through Jesus Christ as the solution, noting that the ongoing confusion aligns with biblical signs of the end times.
