Festus Basil is the CEO of Bas Wealth Works Ltd. He is currently making significant strides in innovation, leadership, and business excellence in Nigeria.

His journey from a small-time entrepreneur to the head of a major business conglomerate illustrates the transformative power of hard work and vision.

Born in Anambra State, Basil was raised in a family of seven. According to him, his parents, both government employees, instilled in him a strong work ethic and resilience.

At age 15, he embarked on his first business venture, selling handmade crafts and importing plantains from Ondo State.

This early experience sparked his entrepreneurial spirit and set the stage for his future endeavors.

“Starting my first business at 15 taught me the value of hard work and perseverance,” Basil reflected. “Those early lessons have been instrumental in shaping my career.”

Pursuing his education with determination, Basil excelled in computer science, business administration, and finance. His teachers in Anambra often noted his unique problem-solving skills.

Throughout his studies, he insisted that he taught himself computer operations, graphic design, and coding, showcasing his dedication to continuous learning and improvement.

“Self-education has been a cornerstone of my journey. Learning new skills independently has enabled me to stay ahead in the ever-evolving business landscape,” Basil noted.

While still a student in Awka, he expanded into the electronics business, importing goods from Lagos.

By 17, he continued, “I owned my own electronics shop”. In 2008, he moved to Lagos and ventured into the cosmetics and perfumes industry before shifting his focus to network marketing.

This led to the founding of Bas Wealth World Ltd in 2009, a company that has since diversified into various sectors including marketing, investments, and publications.

Under Basil’s leadership, Bas Wealth World Ltd has launched several successful ventures. These include Basec Africa, Bas Communications, Bas Mall, and BEL Logistic. In 2017, the company introduced Basmall, an online shopping platform, and later ZoneHQ, a social media app, and Basec Africa, a leading security and automation company in Nigeria.

“The key to success in business is not just innovation but also understanding and adapting to local contexts,” he emphasised.

In 2013, Basil ventured into the music industry with Bas Beats Music (BBM), signing himself and two other artists. Despite initial success, he eventually decided to concentrate on his core business interests.
