The 21st President of the Rotary Club of Omole-Golden, Rotarian Jide Ogunleye, has promised to focus on community impact, collaboration, and leadership development during his reign as president of the prestigious association.

Speaking during the investiture of the new President in Lagos on Sunday, the Chairman of the occasion, Mr. Olufunsho Lawal described Rtn Ogunleye as an exceptional leader in all ramifications. He described him (Ogunleye) as being worthy to pilot the affairs of the Rotary Club of Omole Garden for the one next year.

While pledging his support for Ogunleye’s regime, Lawal, who is a Director at ProServe Limited, described the new helmsman as an exceptional and ever dedicated personality who is always looking for ways to impact lives and make social impacts.

The Guest Speaker at the event, who is also the founder and CEO of Data Science Nigeria, Dr. Olubayo Adekanmbi, shared his long years of working relationship with the new president and established the various unique attributes that stood him (Ogunleye) out as a leader and lover of humanitarian services.

“Before going into today’s lecture, let me crave the indulgence of members and guests here to speak about Jide; the ICT expert and a selfless personality. On number of times, this patriotic Nigerian has watched my back and helped me attend to personal, but technical issues that are related to his fields unsolicitedly. We have in the new President a man who is always eager to add value and solve problems. I’m not therefore in doubt that the rest one year will be very progressive for the club,” Adekanmbi stated.

In his acceptance speech, Rtn. Ogunleye expressed his deep appreciation to members of Omole-Golden for the trust and confidence reposed in him and promised to contribute meaningfully to the growth of the club during his reign.

While reeling out his vision for the club in the years ahead, the top ICT expert said he would focus on community impact, collaboration, and leadership development. He also acknowledged the remarkable leadership provided by his predecessors, particularly the outgoing President, Veronica Susan Isijola, and promised to sustain the tempo of excellence as well as setting a high standard for the club.

He said, “To our outgoing President, and all our Past Presidents, your leadership has been a beacon of dedication and excellence. You have navigated us through challenges, celebrated our victories, and laid a foundation upon which we stand proudly today.”

Reflecting on the profound impact of Rotary’s mission, Ogunleye emphasised the importance of unity and collaboration in achieving the club’s goals. Quoting Helen Keller, he said, “‘Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.’ This encapsulates the essence of Rotary and the journey ahead.”

Among others, the new President identified three key pillars on which his strategic vision would hinge on: Strengthening Community Impact, Fostering Collaboration and Inclusivity and Nurturing Growth and Leadership.
