FGC Alumni Association Rewards Best Graduating Student Udo Cletus With N1.9m Star Prize

A graduating student of the Federal Government College Kaduna (FGCKADUNA), Udo Lilian Cletus has won a total of N1.9 million worth of prize in cash and gifts at the school alumni speech and prize event.

The reward was part of the Alumni’s recent resuscitation of their speech and prize giving day which was last held 11 years ago by the present alumni exco led by Seyi Gambo, the Global President of the alumni Association.

In his speech at the event, the Global President, Seyi Gambo, said as executive of the association, “we are excited that the young ones who are excelling in their studies are being appreciated.

“We give God all glory and thank you all for your uncommon support. It is important that we redirect the minds of our youths to know that if you excel in your studies, the world will appreciate and love you. This is just the beginning, we hope to do much more in the future.”

Since the inception of the present alumni administration, efforts have geared towards reaching out to ensure the school continues to thrive as one of the leading federal unity schools in Nigeria. Just last year, according to the Alumni, over N200 million was raised at the endowment fund.

However, in an address titled ‘Navigating Life’s Journey: Lessons From My Secondary School to University Experience’, guest speaker, David Kevin stressed the need for the students to appreciate the education they are receiving, noting that only finding the part of education can bring lasting success.

In supporting the overall winner, Lilian Cletus Udo who cleared 11 subjects in WAEC, saw one of the Alumni members, Abolore Solebo donating the sum of N1 million, Whilst Homebase Mortgage Bank donated N1 million worth of television for virtual learning to the school.

Other cash gifts and a laptop totalling N1.9 million was given to the winner at the event.

For the Principal of the school, Benjamin, who appreciated the alumni Association, requested that the alumni Association continue to support them to ensure their school continues to grow from strength to strength.

The event saw many of the former graduates of the school in attendance to give support to the school.
