Double Birthday Celebrations for Daniel Olukoya and Wife, Shade

It is the week for a special occasion as Dr. Daniel Olukoya and his wife, Dr. Mrs. Shade Olukoya, celebrate their birthdays together. Olukoya, the founder and General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), turned 67 on July 15, while his wife celebrated her 57th birthday on the same day. Their shared birthday is just the right evidence that they are united and true partners who have come some distance.

State, Nigeria, is said to have exhibited exceptional intelligence from an early age. His academic prowess followed him from St. John’s CAC Primary School in Akure through St. Jude’s Primary School, Ebute Metta. It continued at Methodist Boys’ High School (MBHS) in Lagos, where he became a born again.

Influenced by an Indian teacher’s advice to escape poverty by studying hard, Olukoya dedicated himself to rigorous study sessions. His commitment paid off as he graduated as the best student of his set. Through his time at the University of Lagos to study Microbiology and his PhD in Molecular Genetics at the University of Reading in the UK, this blazing path continued. It culminated in his joining the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research (NIMR) in Yaba, where he established himself as an authority in genetics.

To think that a man of spiritual repute accomplished so much outside of his church. Of course, it is said that it was his Christian upbringing that instilled strong values of righteousness in him, which he maintained throughout his academic and professional life. It was also what helped him identify his wife, Madam Shade, as the missing rib.

Today, Olukoya’s ministry, which is influenced by the late Apostle Joseph Ayodele Babalola, has led to the publication of over 250 life-changing Christian books and various multimedia resources through Battle Cry Christian Ministries.

MFM exists today because of this man’s dedication and the immeasurable support of his wife.
