Africa Women Impact Summit Organisation Announces 2024 Summit, Award in Lagos

The Africa Women Impact Summit Organisation is thrilled to officially announce the 2024 Africa Women Impact Summit and Awards, set to take place for the second consecutive year in Lagos, Nigeria.

The event according to a statement is scheduled for November 9th and 10th at the prestigious Eko Hotel and Suites, promising to be a landmark occasion that will bring together top women leaders from public and private sectors across 32 African countries.

With the theme “Sustainable Leadership; Unlocking Women’s Potential,” the 2024 summit aims to foster powerful engagements that will drive Africa’s development through the empowerment and leadership of women.

This year’s gathering will build on the momentum of last year’s successful summit, which was graced by prominent women leaders from across the African continent and beyond.

The 2023 summit was a resounding success, headlined by distinguished figures such as Her Excellency Ameenah Gurib-Fakim, Former President of Mauritius; Ms. Kanayo Awani, Executive Vice President of Intra-African Trade Bank Afrexim Bank; Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, Honorable Minister of State for Labour; Her Excellency Joyce Hilda Banda, Former President of Malawi, represented by her daughter Edith Banda,

Executive Director of the Joyce Banda Foundation; Hon. Stella Okotete, Executive Director Business Development Nexim Bank; and representatives from the Executive Governor of Lagos State and the Honorable Minister of Women Affairs.

The 2023 Africa Women Impact Summit and Awards ceremony was a glamorous celebration of some of the most inspiring achievers from Africa and beyond, who are breaking barriers and setting new records. The awardees included:

Ms. Kanayo Awani – Africa Inspirational Personality of the Year, Hon. Barr. Uju Kennedy – Women Empowerment Personality of the Year, Hon. Stella Okotete – Africa Women Empowerment Icon of the Year, Ifedayo Agoro – Award for Business Innovation, Mr. Tony Elumelu CFR – Africa HE for SHE Hero Award, Mr. Herbert Wigwe CFR (Late) – Africa HE for SHE Hero Award, Nnenna Kayode-Lawal – Africa Inspirational Personality of the Year among others.

Speaking with the 2024 Chairperson of the Central Planning Committee, Ms. Yvonne Ebbi, a renowned etiquette and leadership consultant, she said that the organisation alongside its co-founders and Advisory Board are poised to put up an excellent event surpassing 2023, attracting unprecedented attention to Nigeria and Africa for the right reasons.
