It was a gathering of eagles at the State house Auditorium, Presidential Villa Abuja, Dr Omotade Omotosho was honored 2024 National Diaspora Merit Awards.

Dr Omotade Omotosho,a distinguished Nigerian who received his education in Nigeria, United States and United Kingdom with remarkable academic records across board, an accomplished professor with several institutions in the UK, Ireland, Italy and Poland.

Omotosho who was nominated and has been awarded by the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission with the National Diaspora Merit Award 2024, for his Significant Contributions in Philanthropy and as a Role model to other Nigerians in the Diaspora to emulate.

Dr Omotade Omotosho, a philanthropist known for his live-changing and impactful programs across Europe,during the Russian attack on Ukraine, Dr. Omotade and his team at the Nigerians in Diaspora Organization were among the first responders at the Polish border. He played a crucial role in assisting the Nigerian embassy with the smooth evacuation of Nigerians Students fleeing the conflict in Ukraine. Dr. Omotade also serves on the boards of the African University Fund
Inc and the European African Centre for Development.

His philanthropic efforts and leadership skills have led him to serve as a consultant and
adviser to the former Mayor of Kobylka, Poland, and the former Deputy Minister of
Economic Development of Poland. Over the years, Dr. Omotade has been instrumental in
strengthening Nigerian-Polish relations.

He is a key organizer of the commemoration of
World War II anniversaries in Poland, honoring Mr. Agboola Brown, a Lagosian jazz
musician who was the only African known to have participated in the Warsaw Uprising in

  1. Last year, Dr. Omotade was also involved in translating the Nigerian Constitution into Polish Language for the parliamentary library in Poland and he is a member of the Polish
    Volunteer Firefighter.

Dr. Omotade’s dedication to service and leadership has earned him widespread recognition. Recently, he was nominated to contest in the Polish local government election held on April 8, 2024, becoming the first Nigerian/African to run for office in the Mazowiecki province, Wolomin county of Poland, and one of the few Nigerians involved in Polish politics.

Dr. Omotade is a beacon of hope among the young and talented Nigerian diaspora. His
exceptional leadership and patriotism have positively impacted Nigerians living in Poland and central Europe, making him a role model and highlighting Nigeria in a positive light.
