PAC Foundation Launches Girls Can Code 2.0

PAC Foundation has announced the launch of Girls Can Code 2.0, its impactful tech upskilling programme designed for Nigerian women between the ages of 20 and 30. Building on the success of the maiden edition in 2023, Girls Can Code 2.0 offers a unique opportunity for 50 women to gain valuable skills in high-demand fields like Data Analytics, Data Science, and Web Development.
“We were overwhelmed by the response to the second edition of the Girls Can Code program,” said Omolola Ojo, Executive Secretary, PAC Foundation.
Speaking further, she said, “Over 700 applications poured in, showcasing the immense interest among Nigerian women in pursuing careers in tech. Girls Can Code 2.0 aims to empower the next generation of female tech leaders by equipping them with the knowledge and tools needed to thrive in this high-demand industry.”
The Girls Can Code 2.0 programme offers participants a comprehensive and engaging curriculum, delivered by experienced instructors. Through a blend of theoretical and practical learning, participants will gain expertise in Programming languages like Python and JavaScript, Data analysis and visualisation techniques and Web development fundamentals
Applications for Girls Can Code 2.0 are now closed. The selection process will be highly competitive, with only 50 women chosen to participate in this 3-month intensive program.
“Girls Can Code addresses the critical need for greater gender diversity in the Nigerian tech sector,” said Joshua Dominic, Programs Officer, PAC Foundation. “By equipping women with sought-after tech skills and fostering a supportive learning environment, the program will empower them to pursue fulfilling careers in tech”, Ojo added.
