Afriwood Comics set to unveil ‘Urenna Amadi, The Incredible Shutter Bird’ in digital, hard copy series

AfriwoodComics has announced the upcoming release of the first five chapters of her digital comic book series, ‘Urenna Amadi: The Incredible Shutter-Bird’, for September 31, 2024.

Following this digital release, the hard copy comic book series will be available on November 27, 2024. This landmark series marks a significant moment in Nigerian superhero comics, showcasing the heroism of Shutter-Bird, Nigeria’s first iconic superhero character.

The book tells the compelling story of Urenna Amadi, a young superhero who uses her powers to protect and uplift her community. This series is a proud addition to African comics, emphasizing the strength, courage, and resilience of our people.

A courageous and talented Urenna Amadi is ready to face and shape life without being afraid of what anyone thinks or says about her look or physical appearance.

The first five chapters of this comic book is packed with suspense, challenges and actions in each, having a uniquely crafted storyline which will encourage readers to think quick and act fast in any difficult situation.

In these chapters, Urenna Amadi bravely intervenes to save a young lady from being brutalized by gangsters. Despite being bullied at school and having her father’s bicycle stolen, her spirit remains unbroken. Demonstrating her dedication to justice, Urenna Amadi aids in the search for a missing girl. She also helps her friend out of a daring confrontation with a school gang, earning the admiration and gratitude of her friend. In a thrilling encounter, Urenna Amadi prevents armed robbers from raiding a fueling station.

According to the publishers, the story promises to captivate readers with its imaginative, creative and dramatic pages, adding that it is easy to read but also emotionally compelling targeting an audience between 13 years and above.
