“Revolutionizing Education: The Remarkable Journey of Amb Richard Franklin and the Niger Delta Schools Conference”

Seventeen years ago in the city of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Amb Richard Franklin recognized a pressing need to tackle the prevalence of cultism and other social vices among adolescents in secondary schools. As a teenage leader in the Assemblies of God Church, he felt compelled to make a difference in the lives of young people and embarked on a mission to bring about positive change.

On April 17, 2007, Amb Richard Franklin gathered over 40 youths and shared his vision for InspireNigeriaChild, formerly known as Deforce. With the support of passionate individuals, including the late Prophet Elijah Elijah and Rev. Mrs Rachel Daramola, the organization was born within the walls of a church.

Despite their youth and limited resources, the team was united in their goal to use their talents to impact their generation. They established functional units in music, dance, and drama to effectively communicate their messages through live performances in churches and street shows.

Recognizing the need to reach a larger audience of children and adolescent youths, the team launched the Niger Delta Schools Conference on October 30, 2007. This event brought together over 800 school children, school management, parents, and stakeholders, with veteran Nollywood superstar Hilda Dokubo and Late Engr. Emmanuel Ugweri lending their support as guest speakers.

The conference not only provided a platform for young people to share their testimonies but also introduced them to the message of Jesus Christ. With each passing year, the conference grew in scope and impact, prompting the team to expand into other states and continue their mission of empowering the youth.

As they celebrate 17 years of unwavering dedication to their purpose, Amb Richard Franklin and his team stand as a shining example of how a vision fueled by passion and determination can truly revolutionize education for the better.
