President Tochil Football Academy Condoles Family of Former CAF President, Issa Hayatou
A distinquished Nigerian diplomat, boardroom strategist, uncommon philantropist, and football enthusiast, Amb. Dr. Tochil Nwaneri has sent condolences to the family of late former President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), His Excellency Dr. Issa Hayatou, after his passing at the age of 77 years old.
Nwaneri described the late President Issa Hayatou as a true pan-African leader and one who strongly defended the continent’s interests over the course of his 29-year reign as CAF President, from 1988 to 2017.
4th Estate Reporters gathered that the late former CAF President, Issa Hayatou, who died a forthnigh ago in Paris-France, will be buried in his native home of Garoua, Republic of Cameron
His remains, according to family sources , will leave Paris on Thursday, August 15, 2024, and arrive at Nsimelen International Airport Yaounde.
Following the announcement of his death, a Nigerian born diplomat, bridge builder, peace ambassador, uncommon philantropist, chairman of Tochil Group, Caribbean Gateway Investment Group, and Tochil Football Academy, HE Amb Dr. Tochil Nwaneri has joined African and global leaders to mourn the passing of the iconic African football administrator who made an indelible mark in the history of African football administration and development when he held away as CAF President.
Speaking from his New York home with the Publisher of 4th Estate Reporters, Njoku Macdonald Obinna , on a telephone interview,
Nwaneri stated; “May I, on behalf of Tochil Football Academy, express my deepest personal condolences and the condolences of the technical crew and management of Tochil Football Academy, over the demise of our iconic African football administrator and former President of CAF, Issa Hayatou.
“CAF and African Football will forever be grateful to President Hayatou for his enormous and far- reaching contributions to the development and growth of African football.
“He will forever live in our hearts, and his legacies shall be sustained in the round leather game.”
