Alice Awobite-Joshua: The Entrepreneur Revitalising Work Mode in Africa
As the world experiences a shift into the fourth industrial revolution, more jobs are strategising and realigning to meet the demands that come with this new work mode.
Africa is an emerging continent looking to meet this revolution in terms of industry and job creation. However, according to a report by the African Development Bank, Africa faces a significant shortage of technology talent, with only 50 percent of skilled professionals to fill these roles.
Despite these discouraging statistics, ATC Professional Academy Founder Alice Awobite-Joshua seeks to equip the Nigerian youth with the necessary skills to thrive in this revolution.
Awobite-Joshua is a seasoned speaker. She has shared the stage with notable speakers and has been on numerous platforms, speaking on the importance of working remotely and being prepared for the new mode of work.
In 2024, she founded the ATC Professional Academy, an online hub academy that seeks to help others succeed in remote jobs and manage products effectively.
Its vision is to provide opportunities for individuals living in Africa regardless of their circumstances, from stay-at-home parents to people with career gaps and those striving to achieve work-life balance.
With a passion for Africa to measure up to the job demand coming her way, she recently launched the Remote Workers Trybe, a community aimed at securing remote jobs for at least 1,000 people by 2026 regardless of their professional background or geographic location.
As Awobite-Joshua continues to champion the cause of upskilling Africa’s workforce for the fourth industrial revolution, her efforts are poised to make a significant impact.
The ATC Professional Academy and Remote Workers Trybe are not merely initiatives but movements aimed at empowering individuals and bridging the technology talent gap.
Awobite-Joshua’s dedication to fostering a skilled, adaptable workforce reflects a broader commitment to Africa’s future in the global job market.
Her visionary approach ensures that regardless of background or location, individuals across the continent can participate in and benefit from the burgeoning opportunities of the remote work era.
