Organization Rolls Out Week of Festivities to Celebrate Humanitarian Leaders
The 2024 World Humanitarian Day celebrations commenced today with a press conference, heralding a week-long series of events dedicated to acknowledging and honoring those who have made significant contributions to humanitarian efforts worldwide. This year’s theme, “Together For Humanity,” emphasizes the importance of collective action in addressing global challenges and supporting vulnerable communities.
Running from August 19th to August 24th, the event lineup includes visits to Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps, an educational conference, and the much-anticipated “Kick Out Hunger” football campaign. These activities are designed to raise awareness, promote education, and engage the public in ongoing humanitarian efforts.
During the press conference, event organizers detailed the week’s schedule and highlighted the critical role of World Humanitarian Day, observed annually on August 19th.
