Beatrice Akpala poised to make history as First Female Chairman of Yala Local Government

Beatrice Akpala, a seasoned media professional and political strategist, has officially declared her aspiration for the Chairmanship of Yala Local Government Area under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Akpala, known for her dynamic career as an On-Air Personality, social advocate, and media consultant, is the Managing Director and CEO of Trice Communications, a media branding firm based in Calabar, Cross River State -Nigeria.

With a formidable reputation in the media industry, Akpala has built a career characterized by fearless reporting and professional candor. Her influence extends beyond media, as she has been recognized as one of Cross River State’s rising young professionals, utilizing her political acumen to make significant strides.

Akpala’s contributions to the political landscape has been notable. She served as the Assistant Director of New Media for the Tinubu/Shettima Grassroots Independent Campaign Council (ICC) during the 2023 General Elections and was the Chairman of the Cross River State Publicity Committee under the Presidential Campaign Council’s Media and Publicity Directorate. Her experience also includes a tenure as Special Assistant on Electronic Media and later as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Communication and Advocacy during the administration of the former Governor Sen. Prof Ben Ayade.

In addition to her media and political roles, Akpala has been a media consultant for the current Governor, Senator (Prince) Bassey Edet Otu. Her work has earned her numerous accolades, including being named among the “50 Young People to Watch” and receiving the title of “Most Resourceful and Sacrificial Broadcaster” in Cross River State.

As Akpala steps into the political arena with her bid for the Chairmanship of Yala Local Government Area, she aims to make history as the first female to hold this position.
