Meet Chef T: The Visionary Behind HomeOfTastyMeals Revolutionizing Food Industry

Tumininu Olaniyi, popularly known as Chef T, is a woman of many talents and a trailblazer with her innovative approach to food service.

As the Founder and CEO of HomeOfTastyMeals, Chef T has transformed her passion for cooking into a global business, serving clients in 85 per cent of countries worldwide.

Her unique offering is same-day order and delivery of food in bowls, with a promise of delivery within just two hours.

Chef T’s journey in the food business is as flavorful as the dishes she creates.

Growing up as the youngest of five children, she developed a love for cooking that would eventually lead her to the University of Lagos (Unilag), where she earned her degree.

Her academic pursuits didn’t stop there; she went on to earn a Doctorate of Philosophy in Business Administration from USA Prowess University.

Currently, she’s enrolled in an entrepreneurship programme at the Pan-Atlantic University’s Enterprise Development Center, further honing her skills as a business leader.

Chef T’s commitment to learning and professional growth is evident in her affiliations. She is a member of the Culinary Arts Practitioners Association of Nigeria (CAPA) and an associate member of WIMBIZ (Women in Business Management, Business & Public Service), a nonprofit organisation dedicated to inspiring and empowering women to attain leadership roles.

Reflecting on her entrepreneurial journey, Chef T says, “Being an entrepreneur for seven years has been an amazing roller coaster. My hard work has been recognized through various awards, including the African Brands Award in 2023, Creative Chef of the Year in 2019, Food Vendor of the Year in 2023, and Africa’s Under40CEOs.”

In addition to her accolades, Chef T has been appointed as an ECOWAS Ambassador and has been nominated for the Global Entrepreneur Award, the world’s most significant entrepreneurship event.

HomeOfTastyMeals, under Chef T’s leadership, has ambitious plans to expand its innovative food-in-bowl concept to the USA, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

She emphasised: “My goal is to run a food-in-bowl restaurant for same-day orders and delivery, challenging conventional thinking in the industry.”

This vision has already been realised in several locations, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive.

Beyond her business success, Chef T is passionate about mentoring the next generation of food entrepreneurs.

She has launched a mentorship program designed to help aspiring chefs and food vendors turn their passion into profit, providing them with the guidance and support she wished she had when starting her own journey.

As Chef T often says, “Let’s celebrate the untapped potential of women, acknowledging them as the largest untapped reservoir of talent in the world.”

Her story is a powerful testament to what can be achieved through passion, dedication, and a commitment to innovation.
